Reykjavík ’09
Work and a large number of (gasp) non-internet related projects has lead to blog drought but I am attempting to get through some 1/2 written posts. Better late than never, right? I went to Reykjavík a couple of months ago and am just getting around to uploading photos; it went a little something like this:

The following story accounts for the name of Barnafoss (Children’s waterfall) and for the disappearance of a stone arch that used to bridge the river. One Christmas day the household of Hraunsás went to attend church, with the exception of two children who were to stay at home. When the people returned, the children had vanished but their tracks led to the river. The children had fallen off the stone arch and drowned. Their mother put a spell on the arch so that anyone who crossed it would drown himself. Soon after, the arch was destroyed in an earthquake.
